The reason for this trip is bittersweet.
My mom and dad had been planning of doing this trip together, but this was not to be. My dad passed away unexpectedly in October of 2012, and so, my mom had to sell their motor home. One year ago, when I was visiting Switzerland for my sister's birthday, she asked if Warren and I could come with her and maybe take a leave of absence. I didn't think this was possible at first, but the longer I thought about it, the more I felt we had to try and make this happen. And so here we are, the three of us, going to Africa together.
